For my project, I will be grouping American states by culture and listing their bio-technology policies. I would also like to gather some information about American culture in general as a base-line. To do this I will have to:
1) Find some sort of expert on national culture and define elements of American culture that are relevant to biopolitics. Places to look: International journals.
2) Find a legitimate way to group states into culture regions. For example, I could use underground secessionist movements (like Cascadia and parts of the south), I could use educational and religious trends, or I could use the definition of someone credible. I would like to focus in part on regional values. Places to look: editorial journals that provide social commentary, Universities, Social activism circles.
3) Choose 3 or 4 biopolitic issues and find out the legal policies in each state. This is the most straight-forward step. Places to look: State websites, Wikipedia.
4) create some sort of info-graphic map/ chart with the resulting info. As I am a web developer, I could possibly put together an interactive map.
More details to come as I digest this more.
